Ole Miss Fans' Bold Chant Against Lane Kiffin Shakes College GameDay

College GameDay cohost Pat McAfee was momentarily speechless on live TV when Ole Miss fans made their feelings about former coach Lane Kiffin all too clear. “Whatever you think about today, you can’t help but…,” McAfee, 39, trailed off on ESPN’s coverage as Ole Miss supporters began chanting “F*** Lane Kiffin” on Saturday, September 19. With the booming chants getting louder, McAfee quipped, “OK … that wasn’t what I was thinking! It’s certainly what a lot of them are thinking!” Saturday’s college football game between Ole Miss and LSU at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi, marked the first time Kiffin, 51, returned to the venue since he left his head coaching job to lead the LSU Tigers. “Lane Kiffin, he hopped in a truck and went right down to Baton Rouge. Now, he hopped in a couple trucks to head right back here to Oxford,” McAfee joked on College GameDay. The coach announced his departure from Oxford in November 2025 after leading the Rebels to an 11-1 regular season. At the time, Ole Miss was preparing for its first College Football Playoff appearance. “After a lot of prayer and time spent with family, I made the difficult decision to accept the head coaching position at LSU,” Kiffin announced last November. Kiffin said that he’d hoped to “complete a historic six season run” with Ole Miss through the playoffs so he could honor “the team's incredible success and their commitment to finish strong.” “My request to do so was denied by [athletic director] Keith Carter despite the team also asking him to allow me to keep coaching them so they could better maintain their high level of performance,” he added. In the aftermath of his Ole Miss exit, Kiffin told ESPN in July that he regretted the way his move to LSU was handled. “I think that's a good thing that I look at life that way now, instead of saying, 'No, I don't. I was right,’” he argued. “I look at things always now, like, how could I have done them better? But it's also easier when you're further removed. There's no emotion involved.” Tensions are still running high on the Ole Miss campus, with Kiffin telling reporters that there were “real safety issues and stuff” ahead of Saturday’s game. “There’s people that have a plan for that, it is what it is,” Kiffin said in a press conference on Monday, September 14. “But I told the players today, you don’t have anything to worry about as far as attention on you all week. There’s so much attention and hatred on me, you just get to go play.” Lane’s daughter Landry — who is a student at Ole Miss — spoke out earlier this week to condemn vulgar banners from around the campus relating to her and a former Rebels football player. (Landry is actually dating LSU linebacker Whit Weeks.) “I’m still a student at Ole Miss. I’ve loved my time here, and I love Ole Miss. So that’s what kind of makes this all even more upsetting,” Landry, 21, explained via TikTok on Wednesday, September 16. “I opened my phone this morning to pictures of banners on houses around Oxford posted on different accounts saying really inappropriate things about me and with somebody that genuinely I have never met in my life, which makes it even more frustrating to say the least.” She pointed out that “turning a girl into the punch line of a sexual joke” should never be acceptable. “I understand emotions are high this week and people are upset, but I am my own person,” she told viewers. “I’ll just never understand how someone can feel good about themselves putting such vulgar things about a girl on a giant banner hanging from their house. I feel like that’s really mind-blowing to me. I just hope people realize there is an actual person behind the jokes that they make.”

Ed Sheeran Faces Backlash After Macklemore's Removal from Loop Tour

Ed Sheeran returned to his Loop Tour after opening act Macklemore was dropped from the lineup for making pro-Palestinian remarks onstage. "Before I play some songs tonight, I hope it’s okay if I say a few words about this last week," Sheeran, 35, told fans during the Saturday, September 19, concert at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, per widely-circulated videos via social media. "I’m used to my music being criticized, and I’m always happy to take that because I’m lucky. A lot of you like my stuff, and to be honest, I’m surprised. I’m not surprised that I’ve even done it. You know, it’s normal." He went on to say, "This week, the criticism was about something much more important, and I’ve had to take and make difficult decisions, and I am making mistakes, and I’m so so sorry." The singer-songwriter explained that he never wanted to "disappoint fans," adding that he never intended to "be an activist." "This has put me in the middle of an important, passionate argument about freedom of speech on the most complex issue on the planet," Sheeran noted. "[My music] has always been a safe space for everyone. That matters hugely to me." He added, "Honoring my commitment to my fans is also completely essential to who I am. That is why I'm here tonight — on my own — continuing my own tour." Sheeran addressed promoters threaten to cancel his concerts if he'd kept Macklemore on the bill for his Loop Tour, saying he was "deeply worried" about interference in freedom of speech matters. "It should never happen in the free world," Sheeran insisted. Admitting that he's never wanted to be "a political commentator of any kind," the four-time Grammy Award winner said he wanted his shows to be about "unity, not division" and "humanity, not politics." "But this is a humanitarian issue [in Palestine] and I cannot hide how I feel about it anymore," he told fans. "What happened in Israel on October 7 was horrific and compounded centuries of pain. What is happening in Gaza is catastrophic and unjustifiable — and disproportionate. ... The systemic injustice we see unfolding in the West Bank cannot be overlooked." A report issued by the United Nations in June stated that 20,000 children have been killed and more than 44,000 have been injured in the region since hostilities escalated on October 7, 2023. "I'm listening and learning. I do not know enough [about the conflict]," Sheeran said from the stage on Saturday. As he seemingly broke down, Sheeran told fans, "I'm honestly so grateful that you're here tonight with me." Sheeran headlined two concerts at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey earlier this month, where Macklemore, 43, was one of three opening acts alongside BIIRD and Lukas Graham, respectively. During both of the “Thrift Shop” rapper’s sets, he chanted “Free Palestine” and played his 2024 protest song “Hind’s Hall.” After alleged pressure from stadiums hosting Loop Tour concerts this fall, Sheeran’s tour promoter dismissed Macklemore from the lineup ahead of his remaining eight scheduled gigs. “Ed Sheeran and his team have made the decision to remove me from the Loop Tour. I am not a victim. Ed Sheeran is not a victim,” Macklemore wrote in a social media statement shared Monday, September 14. “We have careers, money, opportunities, safety and audiences around the world. Whatever consequences any of us face for what we say, we get to go home to our families.” Describing Sheeran as “my friend” that he’s known for 13 years, Macklemore claimed that they had “difficult conversations” about the tour's future. “He told me that the words ‘Free Palestine’ and the image of the Palestinian flag were hurtful to a lot of people he spoke with,” Mackelmore alleged. “I hope this isn’t the end of my relationship with Ed. Thirteen years of friendship doesn’t disappear because of one painful disagreement. I hope we both continue listening, studying what is happening in Palestine and wrestling with what neutrality means in a moment like this. My door will always be open to continuing that conversation.” The “Thinking Out Loud” artist issued a statement the next day, decreeing that he still respects Macklemore and denied the responsibility of dropping his pal from the Loop Tour roster. “After Macklemore’s performances at my New Jersey shows, venues on my upcoming tour dates communicated that they would pull the shows if he was still supporting,” Sheeran wrote in his Tuesday, September 15, statement. “I was informed that this stance was based on how Macklemore conveyed part of his message during his performance, rather than on everything that was said. I spoke with the venues at length all week to try and build a bridge.” The British singer-songwriter further stressed that he hopes to use his platform and music “to bring people from all backgrounds and cultures together.” “Those who have been to one of my shows will know that they are about unity, joy, escapism, love and a place for everyone to feel welcome,” he added at the time. “I have spent this week trying to build bridges, to find a solution and unfortunately, was unable to do so. I know who I am, both as a person and as an artist, and those who know my heart know my values too.” Days later, Sheeran’s fellow Loop Tour openers Graham, 34, and Finneas, as well as guest band Beoga left the concerts in solidarity with Macklemore. Rep. Lauren Boebert is firing back over a House Ethics Committee complaint alleging that she had sex with three current and former staffers. “Congresswoman Lauren Boebert rejects these allegations as utterly false and there is no truth to them whatsoever,” a spokesperson for Boebert, 39, told Us on Saturday, September 16. “This is nothing more than a politically motivated stunt designed to manipulate the ethics process, create headlines, smear her, and generate clickbait.” The Colorado representative’s office spoke out following American Muckrakers’ David Wheeler submitting a sworn statement about her alleged misconduct with three staffers — two female and one male — to the House Committee on Ethics earlier this week, reports The Colorado Times Recorder. The complaint alleges that Boebert previously arranged a $200,000 hush money payment to prevent one staffer from filing their own ethics complaint. “[These accusations] come from an activist who has long recycled sensational claims, including numerous baseless accusations previously fact-checked as false,” Boebert’s rep said. Wheeler and Boebert have had a long-running feud that dates back over four years and has involved multiple threats of legal action. Us has reached out to Rep. Boebert’s office for comment. The ethics complaint against Boebert could carry serious consequences as the House Code of Official Conduct strictly prohibits representatives from having intimate or sexual relationships with staff who work directly under them in their offices or on committees. In September 2023, Boebert — an outspoken ally of President Donald Trump — publicly apologized over reports that she and a companion were thrown out of Denver’s Buell Theatre during a performance of Beetlejuice The Musical. The prominent Republican politician initially denied accusations that she and her companion were vaping and groping one another during the performance — though she later conceded she’d acted inappropriately, in part, because of the trauma of her then-pending divorce from ex Jayson Boebert, per CPR News. “The past few days have been difficult and humbling, and I'm truly sorry for the unwanted attention my Sunday evening in Denver has brought to the community,” she wrote at the time. “There's no perfect blueprint for going through a public and difficult divorce, which over the past few months has made for a challenging personal time for me and my entire family.” Her statement concluded, “I've tried to handle it with strength and grace as best I can, but I simply fell short of my values on Sunday. That's unacceptable and I'm sorry.” More recently, Boebert appeared to poke fun at former House colleagues Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-California) and Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas) resigning due to separate sex scandals earlier this year. “Like, I mean, why is everybody so horny here?” Boebert asked reporters on the steps of Capitol Hill in April. Derek Hough may have won six Dancing With the Stars trophies, but the experience pales in comparison to becoming a dad. “It's so crazy, like, I had this moment really where she was in [the ballroom] and I was, like, ‘I've been in this room for 20 years, performing and growing and learning and been eight different versions of myself in that room,” Hough, 41, exclusively told Us on Thursday, September 17, of bringing daughter Everley, 8 months, to the DWTS set for the first time earlier this week. “I was just kind of sitting there like, 'Wow, I'm in a different era.’” Hough and his wife, Hayley Erbert, welcomed daughter Everley Capri in December 2025. The family of three attended the Wednesday, September 16, premiere, where Hough serves as a judge. In addition to sitting on the judging panel, he also teamed up with Erbert, 31, for a special performance to close out the show. Everley, for her part, watched from backstage. “I've accomplished so many things in that room, but truly my greatest achievement was, like, holding her,” he gushed to Us. “It was extraordinary to share that space that has held so much history, and now to hold the future, you know, in my hands was really cool and really special.” Hough and Erbert also recently brought Everley on the road during their latest live tour. “Going on tour, actually, was wonderful because we got to see her all day, even in between the shows,” he recalled. “I’d do the first half of the show, and then I got to run off and we say ‘hi’ to her, we're all sweaty and getting ready for the second act. And then, we got on the bus and it was … [set up as] a perfect place for a mom and a baby, and we sleep in there and get cuddled up.” He continued, “It was really wonderful, and she was such a great tour baby. She traveled great, she slept good, she ate. Thank goodness she was a great tour baby, but it's a lot. There's a lot going on, a lot of things happening. So for me, I try to savor the moments when I see her and I’m with her, but, you know, it's really good. Nicki Minaj is addressing criticism the rapper has received over her steadfast support of President Donald Trump and his administration. “I am honored to be able to have an opportunity to work with this administration and to work with President Trump. He has inspired many people, not just me. And he's — he's fun,” Minaj, real name Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, said on Friday, September 18, while appearing on FOX News Channel’s The Ingraham Angle, hosted by Laura Ingraham. “He's not just smart, and, you know, he's not just the president,” the rapper continued. “But he's also someone that I can relate to, someone that, you know, every time I see him, or every time I see him speaking to other people, he's just himself. He's very — he's very grounded. It's easy to connect with him. It's easy to feel like he heard you, he understands you. And I just — I just love him. And I'm not going to ever make excuses for that.” When asked if she had anything to “say to the critics of you for working with the sitting U.S. President,” Minaj, 43, quickly responded, “Absolutely nothing.” “I don’t know why I should,” she added. The late Princess Diana’s brother, Earl Charles Spencer, is looking back at how her two sons’ grieved her tragic death at age 36. “I do sometimes wonder with the situation, if I can call it that, … how much it is connected to this very sad time,” Charles, 62, told CBS Sunday Mornings when discussing nephew Prince Harry’s “feelings” in a preview of his Sunday, September 20, sit-down interview with the outlet. “He was so young, he was also so tiny. I remember walking beside him and thinking, ‘This little boy shouldn’t have to walk behind his mother’s coffin.’” Diana was tragically killed in a fatal Paris car crash in 1997. In addition to Charles and her sisters, Diana was survived by sons Harry, 42, and Prince William, 45. The late People’s Princess was ultimately laid to rest in a state funeral, in which William and Harry, who were 15 and 12 at the time, walked in the procession behind her casket with Spencer and their father, King Charles III. “I just wonder if a gentler, more understanding treatment then might have helped him,” Spencer speculated of Harry and the royal family’s ongoing strife. “Then, everyone might have found a happier course ahead.” Harry stepped down from his duties as a senior working royal in 2020 alongside his wife, Meghan Markle. The couple and their son, Prince Archie, now 7, subsequently left England to settle across the pond — a move that exacerbated an already complicated and strained relationship with the king, 77, and William. (Harry has since reconciled with Charles amid the monarch’s ongoing battle with an undisclosed form of cancer.) Harry and Meghan, 45, returned to the U.K. last month in time for Archie and sister Princess Lilibet, 5, to attend a local British school in the fall. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have yet to make amends with William and his wife, Princess Kate Middleton, as the former remain private citizens in the wake of their relocation. “The charitable work of the Duke and Duchess is a personal matter for them both and undertaken in their private capacity,” Charles wrote in a letter sent to Harry and Meghan’s team earlier this month. “In short, their position is akin to private citizens with commercial and charitable interests. ​It is well known that, in January 2020, the Duke and Duchess stepped down from undertaking representative duties on behalf of The Sovereign, and are no longer working Members of The Royal Family. I’m not interested in the royal family,” Spencer claimed. “I’m absolutely not bitter. … No, I don’t [have a relationship with Charles now] actually. He came into my life as a brother-in-law and that relationship ended. You know, he’s still my king. I respect the Crown and that’s it.”
