Parton was always keen on helping others, doing the best she could by giving away books to young children and trying to brighten people’s days during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as donating money for the vaccine. On Tuesday, Dolly Parton’s family announced that the country legend had passed away at age 80. Her nephew, Bryan Seaver, revealed the news through her Instagram.

“This video announcement is something Dolly asked of me years ago, before I fully absorbed it as a future reality. As her head of security for more than two decades, a role my father Larry held before me, I have imagined the heaviness of this moment but haven’t truly felt it until now,” Seavers said.
